That’s me.

  1. Tomorrow is Remembrance Day here in Canada, so many people will take the day off, attend ceremonies and parades, and, I would hope, remember what affords them these freedoms. I always feel weird enjoying myself too much on November 11th; it’s a day to remember wars and deaths and sacrifice of life, so I tend to bask a little in what it means to live in this incredible country and also get to some work (it feels like an appropriate thing to do, to thank those who came before me for my freedom to make a living and do what I do.)
  2. When I was a kid — ha! even as an adult — I am never without what I call a “Busy Bag” – a gathering of activities to keep me occupied when I travel, sit in a car on a roadtrip, wait in lines, etc. I am just perpetually a little bored or fearful of getting that way, and like to have a lot of options to occupy myself. My bag usually has at least a couple of books, sometimes knitting (although I admitted a long time ago that I don’t actually like knitting all that much and have all but abandoned it), a journal, a few pens, sometimes a laptop or ipad..things like that. I noticed today that my life is my own Busy Bag, lately, and I love it. In the last 4 days, I have been able to write, read, sit with clients in some very difficult moments and see them come out the other side together, and reach out to people whom I may invite to work with me. Today, I get to prep for my radio show tonight (I’m interviewing my co-host, Jeff Hendler and it’s going to be soooo fun!) and organize the video for tomorrow’s Couple Talk Tuesday and get outside in the glorious sunshine for a long walk. See? Life is a Busy Bag.
  3. Can I just say how much I love Nookie November? A lot. A. LOT. I send out an email every day, couples find new ways to be intimate together (it’s a 30 Day Challenge for the month of November). If you’re not in on the action, it’s not too late, just head on over here and sign your sweet self up.
